Communicable Diseases

Goal: To decrease student absenteeism and thereby promote student learning and academic success.

he list of reportable communicable diseases regulated by Kansas Department of Health & Environment (KDHE), shall be available in all school health rooms. Current state and local health department regulations for exclusion both non-reportable and reportable communicable disease references should be accessible to all health services staff and shall also be available in all school health service centers.
Students or school staff members suspected of having a communicable disease will be excluded from school according to the current printed state and local health regulations. Exclusion will continue until the expiration of the prescribed exclusion guidelines for the particular infectious or contagious disease or until written notification is received from a health care provider or their designee stating that person is able to return to the school setting. Please notify the school nurse or building administrator if your child has contracted any communicable disease.
