Wrestling Team Finishes Fourth!!
The Seaman Wrestling team finished in fourth-place in the nineteen-team Silver Lake Invitational on Saturday. The Vikings had eight individuals place in the top six of their weight classes. Cole Schreiner was the lone Viking to make the finals. He put an explanation point on an already impressive day when he pinned his opponent, a returning state medalist from Salina South. Schreiners fall also marked the 150th fall for the team on the 2009-10 season, which was a season goal. The Seaman JV squad also participated in a separate tournament at Silver Lake. Geoff Garrison, Dylan Kadous, Alex Stattleman, and Jason McGinty all won individual titles. Seven others also earned medals for placing in the top four of their weight classes. The Vikings will be in action again next Saturday when they will travel to Emporia for the Centennial League tournament. The Junior Varsity will close their season on Saturday when they travel to Burlington for a tournament.
