Softball Players Headed to State!! Congrats to our Lady Vikes softball team on a regional championship. The team defeated Highland Park 11-4 in the first game and beat Shawnee Heights 3-0 in the championship game. Our Lady Vikes will compete in the state tournament next weekend, May 29 & 30, here in town at the Hummer Sports Complex. Golfers Headed to State!! Two Viking golfers qualified for state competition at Emporia next week. Freshman Gunnar Algott lead the Vikings shooting an 88 in regional competition Monday. Rob Carlson also qualified for the state meet.
Swimmers Finish in Top 10!! The Lady Viking Swimmers finished their season with a 6th place finish at League yesterday. Not thrown off by the rain-out on Friday, the Lady Vikings returned to Emporia on Monday and brought home many team points, personal records, and even 3rd place medals in the 400 Free Relay (comprised of Kimberly Meader, Arianna Morgart, Abby Turner, and Kourtney McNorton.) Special honors go to Kimberly Meader and Kristen Bulmer who also brought home 2nd team All League honors. It was a great season filled with many things to celebrate.

Read more on CJ Online. Swimmers Place at City The Lady Vike swimmers finished 7 points out of 3rd place at City on Friday, fighting hard to overcome the points they're forced to give up in diving. Bringing home medals were the following athletes: Josey Wodke (3rd place in the 200 Individual Medley); Kristen Bulmer (3rd place in the 500 Freestyle); and Kimberly Meader, Morgan Handley, Abby Turner, and Kourtney McNorton (2nd place in the 400 Freestyle Relay). Additional congratulations to the following swimmers who obtained 2nd Team All City Honors: Josey Wodke, Kristen Bulmer, Kimberly Meader, and Lisa Grause. The girls travel to Emporia on Friday, May 15, for League. SHS Track Closed Due to construction, the SHS Track will be off limits to all visitors until further notice.
