The debate team went 9-3 at the regional tournament and is qualified to the 4-Speaker State Tournament for the second year in a row. This marks the first time that Seaman has gone to 4-Speaker state in back-to-back years. The regional team was made up of: Ian Mikkelsen (1st year Sophomore), Tanner Fordham (1st year Sophomore), Aaron Neely (2nd year Sophomore), Jessica Barranco (2nd year Senior), and Garrett Mentzer (4th year Senior). Freshman Basketball Teams Win!! Congratulations to the 9th grade girls basketball team for their win against Topeka West last night. The Lady Vikes played hard and all players scored at least two points. The Seaman freshmen boys basketball team beat Topeka West 55-49. Good Luck to both teams a they play Lawrence South and Junction City.
Viking Basketball Honors Congratulations to Haliegh Tenpenny and Bryce Simons who were selected to the All-Tournament Teams at last weekend's Bonner Springs Metro Prep Classic. Haliegh scored 30 points in the tournament, with a game high of 17 against #2 ranked Bishop Miege. Bryce dumped in 78 points during the three day stint, with a game high of 29 on day one on 10-13 shooting from the field. Both teams are back in action Friday, Dec. 19, at home against the Wildcats of Hayden. GO VIKES! |
SHS Track Closed Due to construction beginning Wed., December 3, 2008, the SHS Track will be off limits to all vistors until further notice. Thank you for your understanding. Viking Variety Show Students and Staff of the Viking World...... On Feb. 4, the Theatre and STUCO Depts. are going to sponsor a Viking Variety Talent Show and Taco Feed! Any staff member or student at Seaman High School is invited to participate and show off your abilities. Maybe you sing, juggle, tell jokes, dance, play in a band, tap out the Morse code on your teeth... wait.. that is not a talent... Deadline to sign up for participation in the Variety Show will be Jan 9th. So be thinking over the Holiday Break what you would like to perform on our stage.
